Melbury Bubb, St Mary's Late C15 glass in a number of windows, some of it of high quality. The centrepiece is in the N aisle where there is a fine figure of Christ Displaying the Wounds in what one could describe as a ‘west country style’: the face and halo are very similar to portrayals at Crudwell, East Brent, and Sherbourne Abbey. Clearly there was a Seven Sacrament Series here once as at Crudwell (q.v.) although only Holy Orders survives now. Above in the traceries is the Annunciation: also here is a rare representation of the Wise and Foolish Virgins — four of them. The main W window has a splendid display in the tracery lights, with God the Father, the Dove of the Holy Spirit and eleven of the twelve Apostles all depicted in yellow stain and dark pigment. Shields of arms in the E window for Warre and Maltravers are accompanied by symbols of the Evangelists and the date 1466.
