n.5 The Palmers' window The window recounts - amongst other things - the legendary tale that Edward the Confessor gave a ring to St John, disguised as a beggar, who then gave it to the Ludlow Palmers. They were instructed to give it back to Edward and inform him that St John would meet himin Paradise in six months time. Kind Edward was also alleged to have given the Palmers their charter. |
