Nave N aisle: Bay 1 (from W): w. 47-64 Noah;
panel 6
The in this and panels 7, 8 & 9 are called "Nephilim"; they are something of a mystery; but two large
ones seem to be consulting two smaller ones - here armed with spears and clubs. The Nephilim are sometimes seen
as fallen angels. Genesis 6 1-4 speaks about the "sons of God looking at the daughters of men." The SOG
were 'watchers'. The loony theory suggests the Nephilim were on earth when the SOG descended and suggests they
were responsible for the Sumerians in c.4000 BC. They - Anu, Enki, Enlil etc - were said to have taught the arts
to mankind and were thought thereby to have rivalled God. [Zecharia Sitchin: "The 12th Planet"]
