The Burrell Collection

Some fine examples of the 700 or so pieces of ancient medieval glass collected by Sir William Burrell mostly in the early part of the C20 are on display at the museum in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow. Some pieces came from the huge collection of glass at Costessey Hall sold after the death of Sir George Jerningham. Some of the others came from the collection of the American magnate Randolph Hearst (see also Canterbury Cathedral windows s.14, s.15, s.16 for panels from his collection).
