Meaux, Cathédrale

Founded in the twelfth century the present choir dates from 1253-78 under the architect Gautier de Varinfroy and contains fine examples of the Rayonnant style. The west facade was built after extending the nave in the C14 re-using the tympana of the C13 doors; the north tower and portal was completed in Flamboyant style in the C16. The center door was being cleaned and restored in 2018-2019
