St Denis, Basilique -

Most of the original glass (c.1140) has been destroyed or dispersed after the French Revolution. However some panels remain but all of these have been removed for restoration and protection (in the1990s) and will be displayed - one day - permanently outside the Basilique. The photographs here of the early glass were taken over 30 years ago. The 4 main windows at the east end are facsimiles.

The mid C13 panel from St Grmain des Pres can still be seen in the Basilique. This is the original disposition of the early windows:-
