North Cerney, All Saints

The N transept has good mid C15 glass with a Crucifixion group and the donor John Eycote in the E window; equally interesting is the trio of female saints on the N side, all drawn from the same cartoon: Catherine, the Virgin Mary and (?)Dorothy, the latter figure being depicted as a mirror image of the other two. Over in the S chapel E window are two ecclesiastics St Martin and St Urban (portrayed with a papal tiara, mistaking the saint for the Pope!) and the Virgin Mary again, with flaming sun and Yorkist badges, ie late C15; note the ‘jewels’ in the border of the Virgin’s gown.
