Cartmel, Priory

In the main E window are the large but fragmentary C15 figures of an archbishop, the Virgin and Child and St John the Baptist; above them are many saints inhabiting little niches in the numerous tracery lights, including Andrew, Bartholomew and Matthias can easily be seen. Fine remains of a Tree of Jesse in the S aisle E window of c.1340 whose figures (one king and six prophets) are reminiscent of those at Madley (Herefs).
